New To Detroit

Hey everyone I am a recent college graduate who just moved to Detroit and am just starting to think seriously about real estate investing.  My new job involves working with real estate data and around the real estate world, but is not related to investing.  I am loving riding my bike and car around the city and beginning to understand the neighborhoods, I've never seen anything with such stark contrast.  I am in an area with skyrocketing rent with abandoned building a stone's throw away.

I am starting to look around for entrepreneurship and real estate groups in the area, so let me know if you know any! I would love to talk with anyone investing in Detroit and try to help out any way I can in exchange.  One way I might be able to help is that I am part of a program that pairs recent college graduates with tech jobs in Detroit, so I know a lot of people moving to Detroit looking for new places to live.  Happy to be here!

@Brock Cassidy, welcome. There are a lot of REIAs in SE Michigan. Many meet monthly. Look for the Renegade Detroit Investors, MREI (Michigan real estate investors), and REIA of Oakland. A group hosted by BP member @Tom A. is free to attend and meets at rotating sites. There are several more. A websearch should reveal them.
