Hello my name is Steven Torres, I am from New York, Long Island. 22 years old, currently deployed over seas. I am a very ambitions young man who always loves to learn new things. I have worked as an electrician for a long time. Took a seminar awhile back on real estate investing and have been exceptionally interested ever since. I hope to began working on my first deal as soon as I get back home in January, trying to start he year off right. My main interest is to get into rentals, but I am thinking of starting with flipping.

Being motivated is good, rushing into a deal before you are ready is not. Wait for the right deal.  You have a big advantage starting as young as you are. We'll help you learn to do it right.

Welcome brother (literally) I thought you had a profile on BP already. Hopefully I can get started before you get back home and then we can hit the ground running when you are back.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the welcome and hope to learn much from you all and from the various resources here. I am very excited about this journey. I have always been one to enjoy adapting to new concepts and learning new things so I am sure this will be very good for me.

Welcome to Bigger Pockets, @Steven Torres. LI is not the easiest market for Buy & Hold, but it can be done. Or you might consider turnkey investing out of state. I do both. Take your time and research your neighborhoods. Good luck!

I have thought a lot about investing out of state. I don't know much about how i would go about it, but I will learn as much as I these months I am away and be ready to start investing at some point when I get back.
