I quit my corporate sales position to be able to stay home with my children and manage my family's financial portfolio. That being said, I have a great passion for buying, adding value and selling pretty much anything - however, real estate has been calling my name for quite some time. Now that I have the chance to leave the corporate J.O.B I can get to work on REI. I currently have my first home rented out, and possibly looking to cash out to start taking on more. Basically, riding the 2.5 interest rate it has been at for nearly 3 yrs. to build quick equity. I am looking for people with experience to learn from. I am a sponge and I am eager to get my feet wet. Knowledge is power so I want to get as much hands on experience as possible.
I have lots of questions, mostly about financing, and these forums have been a huge help. I do notice that there are way too many variables to consider as everything "depends" upon each unique situation. Hence, why I am looking to start meeting and getting my hands dirty with some people here in town. I have been tapping into the BP forums for a little while now and wanted to say hello! I am excited to be a part of this community.
Thanks for reading - you have already been a warm welcome!
Welcome, @Toree McQueen !
You'll definitely find what you need here to get you up to speed on the financing end of things. If there's ever anything you need on the real estate end, don't hesitate to reach out.
See you around!
Welcome!! My husband and I live in Tigard and are in the same boat. I am a stay at home mom as well. We have been going to REI meet ups and just connecting with others in the business. This site has been amazing and soooo many resources are available at our fingertips. There is a local meet up going on this Thursday at 5:30. You can get in touch with @Randy Johnston . Best of luck and hope to meet you soon at a local REI meet up :).
Welcome to BP @Toree McQueen If you are a sponge this is the place to get saturated with Real estate info.
@Toree McQueen Welcome to BP. As Laura mentioned, there are some local real estate investor groups that may be of interest to you. Both Northwest REIA and Rarebird hold monthly meetings and are attended by many beginning and seasoned real estate investors.
There are several of us attending an impromptu meet-up at Vintner's Cellar on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Here's a link to the information.
Hope to see you there.
I'm a mortgage broker with a couple of investments. Happy to talk strategy with an investor. You don't have to be working on a loan. Good luck.
Welcome @Toree McQueen
Love the BP community, as it seems you do. The folks up in Portland have been great. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing you around!
