Hello All,

My name is Didier Garcia, and I am new to both the forum and REI. I am an software engineer by trade and I love my job, but I know that it will only ever be a "job" so I've decided to take it upon myself to invest in my family's future through real estate.

I found out about the forum from "The Book on Rental Property Investing" (small plug?), I venture to guess that my focus will be smaller rental properties. I will probably start with either a SFH or a duplex and hold it as a rental. The details will start to become clearer for me as I educate myself and gain experience both here in the forum and on my own.

My goals in REI are to one day be able to live comfortably solely from my investments, and to be able to focus on my family and hobbies.

Welcome @Didier Garcia! I used to work in tech as well, and made the move to REI for the same exact reason...

I highly recommend attending some networking events. Making connections in this business is invaluable. The people you will meet have experience, knowledge, and may be a good source of deals for you.

Welcome to BP and good luck in your RE journey!
