Hi, my name is Jeremy. I have been a member of BiggerPockets for a while now but this is my first post. I was born and raised in the East Bay Area. I grew up working in my father's general construction company doing everything from simple bathroom remodels to full rebuilds. I later got my real estate license to learn the business. I completed a few transactions but was offered a corporate job that I could not turn down. I have gone through the usual routine of reading every book I can get my hands on and will continue to do so but I am ready to get out of the so called "analysis paralysis" and start my career in investing and I am hoping that the  BP community can help me on my journey. Thank you for reading and look forward to meeting you.

Jeremy

Hello and welcome to BP!  It sounds like you have some good experience and learning.  Just take your time and learn as much as can before you feel like it is time to start. Timing even effects real estate so be careful right now as the typical housing inentory is kind of low right now and it is more of a seller's market right now.  I do not mean there are not good deals out there, you just have to look a little harder.

I am 59 years old and have been in the construction business since I was 17. Including those college years.  I held a broker license in Texas for about 30 years and I have given it up mainly because of my brain aneurism and stroke I had over 5 years ago.  I found BP about 8 months ago and while I am still recovering I am trying to decide what to do.  Luckily I am married to a woman that has been saving for about 25 years and have an old friend that is currently living down in Houston and he has been paying for my personal nurse for over 5 years and is not keeping tabs.

I went to college and got a business degree that emphasized real estate, in 1980.  Since I was in Texas and planned on staying there I found out that I was qualified to take a broker test without taking anything extra so I got a license in 1980.  Regardless of what I had I felt more comfortable with the construction business.  My father has been in real estate buying and selling for about 40 years and he has taught me a little bit.  If you think that I might help you please contact me through BP at any time.  Good luck to you!  By the way, I live in Coppell.
