New REI in town!

Aloha mai, my legal name is Walter Barrett, but I go by Kepa after my middle name. I grew up as an inter-island child with my primary residence in Mililani, O'ahu, but I also grew up with my family in Kaimukī, Hilo-Big Island, and Waihe'e-Maui.

My brother-in-law introduced me to BiggerPockets after I inquired about potentially joining a real estate investing program with a company that would've charged me $25k-$50k in tuition fees to get started in REI.

I don't have that kind of money yet. As a 21-year-old college student currently in his senior year at the Claremont Colleges in California, I'm not financially capable of making such a huge financial commitment to a practice about which I just started learning.

So, I came to BiggerPockets with the intention of learning as much as I can from a community of well-established investors! So far I've only touched the surface of REI. Check out my profile for more details about myself and my goals for beginning REI.

The only thing I have left to pose to this community is: where do I start??
