Hi All, My name is Chris and I am looking to break into investing. I am a military vet currently in college but graduating in 2018. No prior experience in real estate but I'm hungry for knowledge and to get started. Looking to get my start within a year by house-hacking and I am also interested in flipping. Ultimately I interested in building a solid rental portfolio. A family member with flipping/renting experience introduced me to BP and I've been hooked ever since. -Chris

@Christopher Fernandes My advice would be to absorb whatever you can through BP.  Listen to as many podcasts as possible.

Then start going out to look at properties that are flip candidates and get some exposure to them.  Follow a flipped property through from start to finish and see if the flipper will share their numbers with you at the end.

Finally, start going to REIAs. @Ann Bellamy runs the Black Diamond group in Waltham. I have a much newer group starting up. It's the South Shore REIA, meeting the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Radius Financial (a mortgage lender), 600 Longwater Dr, Suite 107, Norwell. We meet from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Good luck!
