Newbie from Santa Monica, California

Hi All,

My name is Tiffany and I live in Santa Monica, California. Currently, I work as a marketing manager for an entertainment company, but I'm really looking to move into real estate in the future. I've always had an interest in real estate (specifically multi-family) and was lucky enough to come across this site. The podcast has been really eye opening. I never thought I'd be able to afford anything, especially with how expensive things are these days. But after listening to many Bigger Pockets podcast episodes, I'm starting to think it's a possibility.

On my own, I'm working on getting my real estate license. I'd love to become a real estate agent and then eventually move into investing. I'm hoping this site and the people I meet here will help give me the knowledge and confidence to accomplish this.

Looking forward to connecting!

Welcome @Tiffany Current

Glad you found BP, it is a great place and there are so many great resources here, I still find out new things every time I listen to the podcast, and I've listened to a LOT of episodes.

Good luck with your real estate pre-licensing class, I really enjoyed mine!

@Tiffany Current, welcome to Bigger Pockets.  There are some amazing, supportive people on here.  I am in California as well.  Feel free to PM me if there is anything I can do to help you in your journey.

Real estate is an exciting investment/industry and I love helping people with their journey.

Hello! @Tiffany Current

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent. There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I have other blogs that may be helpful here on BP in my personal blog that you can check out. Good Luck :)

Welcome @Tiffany Current ! California is such a beautiful place. I've been to areas like Irvine, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, and even the other "Car-mel" in north and the weather has never let me down when I was there.

I am also a new soon-to-be investor going down the path of multi-family buy and hold and would love to connect with you. I also thought that I had to save up to buy properties (which would take forever), but also learned from others that it is indeed possible to put someone else's money into your deal. Have you joined your local REIA? That's was my first step I took for my RE journey and I highly recommend it. Wish you a very successful journey towards financial freedom!
