Hi from Des Moines via Miami
Hi All,
New member here. Moved to Des Moines, IA after 6 years in Miami, FL. Slight change! We sold our apartment in Miami Beach when we moved so we could buy a SFH here, as we had a daughter on the way.
Now that we're settled, we're looking at buying rentals, likely starting in Des Moines, but we still have a lot of contacts in Miami and are looking there as well (eventually want to live there in the winters again).
We have enough money saved for conventional financing, great credit, and great jobs with high salaries (thanks Des Moines!) so now it's all about finding the first property. Hoping to learn from some others and get serious about it now.

Welcome to the area! There is a REIA meet up the third Thursday of every month at the Ingersoll Tap in Des Moines from 6-8 pm. Very informal. No organized speakers or topics. Just grab a drink and meet like minded people from around the area. Maybe even find somebody selling a property, or a great real estate agent.
