Starting my new Journey

Hello all! My name is Jason Hammond, and I am brand new to real estate. I am cramming as much knowledge as I possibly can so I can start and complete my first deal sooner rather than later. As I have no money at the moment (I am NOT poor, just broke) I am making use of all the free resources and advice I can find. Bigger Pockets has been a great start thus far!

Welcome to the community, @Jason Hammond!

I want to encourage you to do the work now to crystalize the vision of what you'd like to accomplish through real estate investing.  You'll continue to be faced with a thousand different avenues in the game, each of which have thier own strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities.  Each of them will claim to be the best.  This can lead to "shiny object syndrome", "analysis paralysis", and a host of other "isms".

Instead, if you'll do the work now to get clear on why you want to invest in real estate and what you see REI being able to produce in your life, then you can say "yes" to the opportunities that bring those truths into your life, not the ones that simply promise "unparalleled wealth and ease."

Good luck on the path!

Will
