new guy question about private lending and taxes

I am just starting out and reading books. Do all private lenders require special tax requirements or just when you are publicly soliciting for funds? In the book "No or little money down" in chapter 6, it is discussed but highlighted legal advice is needed and a CPA for taxes in the event you want to publicly put yourself out there to find funding. I might have a few people interested in private funding but as long as I have the right documents outlined and a plan, what else is needed?
