Newbie from South Florida

Posted

Newbie Investor from South Florida!

I got my real estate license at the end of 2018 and had a killer 2019.  I sold two residential properties in Broward County (Coral Springs and Margate) and closed on two more properties in Broward (Coral Springs and Margate again).  Then 2020 came along and slowed my momentum, but didn't shatter it.  I was able to close on another residential this August that took an exceptional amount of time due to Covid slowdowns but we closed.

I will be officially stepping into FULL TIME REALTOR STATUS at the end of this school year (I have been teaching for 9 years) and am scared out of my mind to give up my W2 career. However, my husband and I have been focused on taking a leap into our next chapter.  Ultimately, I want to use my residential real estate commission as my vehicle to assist in purchasing investment properties.  We are trying to iron out all the details in regard to funding these projects, but we have the ability if our first property is found.

My goal is to have a duplex in the next 6 months and build our portfolio from there, 1 to 2 income properties a year.  I have hustled my entire life, I am not afraid of hard work and I couldn't be happier about the potential that awaits.

I am so thankful to BiggerPockets for translating their wealth of knowledge in such a way that not only educates but inspires!  Hope to create some great connections here with all of you as well as to learn from all of you.
