Hey Y'all,

Things are tough in Atlanta since yesterday. Glad to be working from home today. Check this out!

Many years ago I flew into Atlanta about this time of year for business meetings. We landed in the middle of the night and while taxiing to the terminal, the cabin crew warned us of the "Winter Storm" taking place outside.

After collecting my things I went in search of transportation to my hotel downtown and found a huddle of cabbies staring out the windows of the arrival area. There was about 2" of snow down and they were all prepared to stay until the sun came up in the morning and melted the roads.

After a little banter and pulling out my passport to prove I was Canadian, I convinced one of them to take me to my hotel ... or rather, to let me take him to my hotel. I drove the cab from the airport to the hotel with the cabbie as my navigator.

I then had to fight with him to pay my fare.
