Is FasterFreedom a reliable resource to use?

Hi. I am under 18 years of age and I am trying to set myself up for success after schooling. I recently heard of real estate investing through a channel on YouTube called FasterFreedom utilizing the BRRRR method and I would like to do more research on it and strategies that would be available to me both now and later on. If anyone has any advice on what resources to use or any advice from personal experience that would be greatly appreciated and if anyone has heard of FasterFreedom could you let me know if it would be a reliable source for me to use?

It’s awesome you’re thinking about this so early, that alone puts you ahead.

From a tax perspective, the biggest advantage you have right now is time. The BRRRR method works well long-term because rental properties give you depreciation, which lowers your taxable income, and tax-free equity access when you refinance. Those two things are what make BRRRR powerful no matter your age.

Like Greg mentioned above, some of the online programs just want you to buy in, so it’s smart to make sure you set yourself up first by understanding the concepts. I’d also consider starting with a house hack—living in part of a property while renting out the other units. This lets rental income cover your mortgage and expenses while you take advantage of tax benefits like deductions, mortgage interest, repairs, and depreciation. You’ll also gain valuable experience managing a property before buying anything bigger.

Before you buy anything, learning the basics of taxes with rentals will give you a huge head start. Some key things to focus on:

• How depreciation works
• What counts as deductible expenses
• How interest, repairs, and rehab are treated
• How refinancing can give you tax-free money

As for FasterFreedom, they’re popular and helpful for beginners, but it’s always smart to cross-check what you hear with objective sources.

I have zero experience with FasterFreedom but have looked at tons of programs.

This one statement would make me pause.  In one of their first sentences they say... "without using any of your own money"  This pitch is designed to attract people that have very small amounts of money and get them to pay the promoter.  I'd rather someone tell me "The most likely strategies require you have some cash.  We want you to teach you to make your money work hard for you."

There are lots of real estate training programs out there. Find ones that don't sound like they are selling snake oil.  Find ones that teach you how to make your money work hard. If they are selling a "money for nothing" dream, odds are very few people succeed at that.

Before I offer any advice, I'm not an active RE investor, so take this for what it's worth.The best advice I got when I was your age was to start investing immediately, but start small. At that time it meant participating in stock dividend reinvestment programs (DRIPs) with specific companies. Could you be putting $25, $50, $100 per month into SPY in an ETrade account? Time is your ally.With regards to real estate, something to consider while you're young. Save as much as you can so you have some money to get started when you're ready. Learn - watch videos, read books, listen to podcasts, follow these forum discussions. If you can, volunteer or get a part time job working for a local realtor, rehabber, or property manager. Do that and by the time you're 18, you should have some good knowledge and experience and hopefully some cash saved up. Assuming you plan to go to college, consider discussing with your parents the possibility of acquiring a single family home, duplex, or triplex wherever you go to school rather than living in the dorms (assuming your school allows this). You manage the property and rent the bedrooms to classmates to cover cost while you're there. It should more than cover what you'd otherwise be paying for room and board. Try to bank the Room & Board money over the college years and that will provide a healthy start toward a down payment on a new property after you graduateMy $0.02

So, you fund an ad on Youtube and now assume it's 100% legit and they have your best interests in mind?

What specifically are they offering that you can't Google and find elsewhere?
