Manhattan Investment: Hell Yeah or No?

Kushal Shah
Posted

Hello Guys!

For those of you who are seasoned investors in Manhattan, do you guys love it or would you rather invest elsewhere?

With recession supposedly looming, will a downturn be good time to invest in Manhattan for a rental property?

What’s the :

1. average profit margin

2. cap rate

3. Pitfalls

4. Appreciation over 10 year period

I looked at few properties and the HOA seems outrageous!!!

I will appreciate any feedback from seasoned players 🙏

@Kushal Shah Manhattan is full of neighborhoods which essentially act as submarkets. The market over all was slow through 2010-11 but by 2012 there were lines at open houses and multiple bids was a common occurrence. We’re in a buyers market now in Manhattan except for the occasional hot property which will sell quickly and at/above ask. If there’s something specific you’d like to look at I’m happy to discuss.
