Friends and business....

Hello fellow BPers....

I am in the middle of a pickle and not sure how to handle it properly.

I have a friend who I have known for 10 years and he has been a realtor for about 4-6 years now. I purchased an investment property through him BUT it was a straight forward conventional way.

Last year we had a little of a fall out and did not really talk much for about six months. This past December I sat him down and put everything on the table and we agreed to move fwd from everything and put that in the past.

However last October, when we were not in good terms, I began looking for a home for my family and I. I know other realtors so I decided to go with someone else.

The other day I went over my friend, who I had hashed things out with, and told him the great news that I was closing on a new home for my family and he got really upset about it.

When I told him the timing of things he did not care, all he kept saying is that friendships shouldn't be this hard and that if I was thinking of buying a house I should have come to him sooner and hash things out and he could have been our realtor.

Full disclosure before all this, and even though I never uses it, he had giving me his access to the MLS. ( He is holding that over my head that he feels used)

So my question is, what is your opinion ?? Where did I go wrong?? Is there a way to fix ??

Thank you...
