Putting billboards in my backyards?

Does anyone on here have any experience with billboards? Had an outside the box idea to purposefully purchase properties lining the interstates here in Birmingham for the dual purpose of constructing a new billboard in the backyard and renting that also. I know the sign laws will most likely be extensive, but can anyone offer insight as to how to proceed towards this goal??

Thanks!

Wow! You're REALLY gonna wanna work the numbers on that, and remember to include in your numbers the impact of the sign boards on the desirability of the property as a rental. Billboards are lit ALL NIGHT, remember. Folks may not want to sleep under a source of "light pollution" which shines in their window all night.

What you may want to include in your plan is owning the property where the billboard stands, but having that land fenced off from the tenants so the sign company can have unlimited access without disturbing your tenants to open / unlock gates and such.
