Eviction && bankruptcy

2 hours before the eviction trial

The tenant filed bankruptcy 2 hours prior to court trial. The property management said that by law, they cannot do anything until the bankruptcy is dismissed. If/when the bankruptcy is dismissed, the court case will be rescheduled

Is there anything I can do?

How long does it take?

Your PM is giving you incomplete info... you don't have to sit and wait. Doing so would reward the tenant. Hire an attorney. File appropriate claims in the BK for rent. File a motion to lift stay to continue the eviction. Good luck.
