Vinyl planks for house resale?

We will be putting our house on the market within the next couple of months, and we are on a very tight budget to make repairs and improvements.

Ok. So the question is with the entrance - kitchen floor, it has a patch in the hallway and even if we do not want to, we need to change it in order to be able to sell. Our options are:

1.- To do tile just in that area for 3k -just entrance, hallway, breakfast area and kitchen- dining room would remain laminate, laundry room laminate and living room carpet. The main problem with this is it will break the flow in the flooring, will create too much division, and that is 1k more than our next option. - This is our Realtor´s choice.

2.- For 2k we could have installed Vinyl Planks, wood looking, including dining room and laundry room -Our contractor´s choice.

So the question to you is if you think Vinyl Planks would create a devaluation in the house, rather than an improvement. What would be your choice if you want to maximize the profit on the sale of the house, that including just leave the floor as they are.

@Rayo Wolf have you gone out with your agent and looked at other houses in your area and price range? If not, I would. You want to be similar to others. If laminate or vinyl planks are common in your price range that's an option. Laminate is not a good choice for kitchens, though, or any area susceptible to moisture. It has to be kept dry. I'd consider hardwood, but that might be out of your price range or hard to match with other floors.
