Ejector Sump, only serves furnace
Got an off-the-wall question...
Just had a plumber here to replace the switch on my ejector sump pump. Got to see inside the sump and it seems kinda - what we used to call - groty.
Now, it's not an effluent sump, it only serves the floor drain next to the furnace for AC condensate and humidifier waste water. We did, however, spill (break) about a half dozen glass bottles of root beer down there years ago (IBC *sniff*). I dumped a few 5-gallon buckets of hot water down there hoping to flush it out. Maybe it wound up "growing" something in the sump, any way.
My question is:
Do you think it would damage anything if I dumped a couple gallons of distilled white vinegar down there to see if it would loosen / dissolve the scum?
