Here is an free tip that will save you heartache, headache, and having to do the work over after you see the poor quality results: DON'T buy cheap paint. You get what you pay for.

I buy left-over from several painter friends - Of course, they are mismatched. As long as they are close in color shade , I then filter and  mix them up in a 35 gal plastic barrel which has a cut-off valve in the bottom to fill up the 5 gal buckets.

By doing this, I pay average $6-$8/gal - The only thing I buy at the store is gloss / semi gloss white trim paint.

Tip: buy a "$15 off on $50 purchase" Lowe's coupon on Ebay for $1. Now you have 30% discount at the store.

We have gone with both Sherwin Williams (they have the contractor paints in the back) and Home Depot, flooring we have done Floor and décor for tile,

We have found good pricing on flooring on some of the Lumber Liquidator items.

You can also get the Home Depot pro desk to match or beat pricing if the order is large enough

I don't like to paint enough to buy inexpensive paint. Buy quality paint and be done in half the time. I try to use the same color scheme in most rental units to keep life simple.

I like Sherwin Williams paint (ProMar is cheap but still good).

@Larisa Jimenez - I can't advise on Dallas, but we use Lowes or Home Depot for paint and take bids on flooring and windows.
