Complete dump-cost to rehab?

Question

Ive always thought that if I buy a completely dumpy house it will cost me 100K to rehab it. (Sort of like in the show "Good Bones")

But people on this forum told me it should not cost that much on a 1000 sq house...

So how much would you say approximately it cost to do a complete rehab if a house is a  dump (just like what they deal with in the "Good bones" show) But my house would be smaller than theirs, mine would be lets say 1000 sq feet

I know it is hard to tell the exact number, but can you please give me a ball park? Lets say that roof, siding and foundation are ok.. Only inside needs to be gutted (new electrical, new plumbing, new flooring , the cheapest flooring) Can you guys let me know approximate numbers?

What do you mean? You mean to just buy a turn key house? And not try to remodel since I am out of state?

Thank you guys! So probably if housing is 30-50K for a fixed ready to move in house, then its not worth it to buy a complete dump....Thank you so much for all your input!

@Mary Jay if the roof, siding and foundation are ok, but you need a rewire, new plumbing, new hvac and gutted to the studs (assume a 3/1), I would probably be in the $50-75k range to have a GC do it. If the roof and siding need to be done you are closer to $100k. Foundation work is anywhere from $500 (what I just paid for some) to $25,000 or more (what I paid for another house).
