Surety bonds for rehab work

- Do you use surety bonds when working with general contractors on rehabs or flips?

- Is there a minimum project cost that you'd require a GC to be bonded?

- What are the pros and cons of requiring bonding?

It seems to me a good idea to require bonding for almost any project as a way to mitigate risk. If you have experience with this, what are some of your thoughts?
