Meth Remediation Before Gut?

Hey everyone, I've looked through a lot of Meth House related posts, and based on what I've read it would seem that even if I want to take a house down to the studs for remodel, it would still be best to have the home remediated first.  I couldn't find a post that made this perfectly clear.  Am I correct to believe that before a gut, a meth house should be remediated by a professional company?  The home in question doesn't seem to have been used to cook meth, just distribute.  Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Wow, brave you!  This will be quite a learning experience!  Check this out:

State Clan Lab Decontamination Laws

Twenty-five states have enacted clandestine drug lab assessment or clandestine drug lab decontamination laws, or both. Those states include: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Utah, Arizona, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Idaho, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Arkansas, Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, North Carolina, and New Hampshire. Several states have guidelines in place. For more information, visit Meth Lab Cleanup Company's companion website. Many cities and counties in regulated and non-regulated states have also enacted clandestine drug lab decontamination ordinances.
