Hello Bigger Pockets community,

I have a NOOB question for some contractors. Just picked up my first rental and doing some of the work myself. My question is the siding is wood and in decent shape however after removing some sheet rock from the interior noticed there was some gaps exposing the elements to inside the wall, could I just put tyvek house wrap over old siding the put new siding over that or is this not a good idea? Thoughts, opinions, and suggestions all welcome.

Thank you for any insight! 👍

A great place to check out construction practices is Journal Of Light Construction. Many articles on residential remodeling and construction.  Also contact Tyvek for advice would be your best source of advice.
