Removing leaky old sink faucet

Hello BP

I need help to remove the old sink faucet handle to replace the cartridge.

I think it’s Moen or Kohler faucet.

If you look down the hole where the handle was is another phillips head screw.  Unscrewed that and sometimes you have to give it a couple taps with a hammer to loose it up.  Then the entire metal thing should come off.  Then you have to un screw the retaining nut on the top.  Might have to tap it a couple times with hammer and it will pull right out and reassemble.
