Hello

Can the dishwasher be hardwired. Is there the new code requirements for the dishwasher to be connected to GFCI ?

Manufacturer's instructions usually supersede local codes in most cases. I put in a lot of Bosch dishwashers in and almost all of bosch require that you have an outlet and actually have a little cord with a disconnect receptor in the machine so they don't want you to hardwire them. There are still a lot of brands that are hardwired to though.
