Website- good idea or not important?

Question

I have a decent position in the firm I work for, but we're expected to generate our own clients/buyers -and I have no idea as to how to attract investors. I was thinking about making a website, but I don't know anything about it, and honestly, dont have a lot of time for it.

Does anyone have experience with this- ie, know if making a personal website or page will help me? If so, I'd be willing to pay for help- but only if it's really worth it. Any advice would be very appreciated!

Technology has made it simple for you to get one up and running in no time. And if you don't have the time to do it yourself, there are plenty of people around that world who will do it for you for a VERY affordable prices...

I look at building websites like building cars - the manufacture build the frame, and the person who buys it add the accessories they want.

The same applies to websites...

All you have to do is come up with the content (accessories) and have a manufacture build you a frame (your website).

It's really that simple, but I didn't say it is easy.

You can do it though if you make time for it...If at all possible, start with 10 minutes a day planning it out.

A decent site builds credibility in my opinion.  If I can google somebody and I don't find any information about their professional life,  then I assume they are not true professionals.  There are a lot of dabblers in Real Estate.  Google the name of the top realtors, property managers and mortgage folks in your area,  they generally have websites and listings everywhere (google, yahoo, bing, manta, YP, etc).   You don't need a complex site,  a godaddy.com template site with great information will do.

The extra site might help... Doesn't have to be too complex.  I'm currently building a lead gen site and also plan to build a nicer company site for the homes once I do all the rehab.  Good luck to you!

Now a days the #1 best marketing tool is social networking ( Facebook, Instagram, twitter etc) and the main point of marketing a service or product is to get it in the way of someones vision so if it attracts them or someone they know word of mouth will do the rest of the work. That being said if you already have a social network built page made for your service I have a friend who literally all he does is marketing on social networks for a living by giving what is known as "shout-outs" and exposing your service or products to hundreds of thousands if not millions of people on social networks. Its crazy I know but its how he makes his money and he's real good at what he does, he mostly works with models , Artist , DJ's, restaurants , etc that are trying to get their name out more and exposed. The more likes or friends your page has the more "popular"  it seems to the world of SN, and he can get you as many hits as you want as long as he gets paid for it. I don't know if my answer is what your looking for but it is a powerful strategy that i have intentions on using as soon as i get my real estate company established.
