Unpaid taxes and unpaid HOA

Hi! I’m looking for guidance. Our neighbors in Maine have not paid their taxes in a few years. We’d like to buy their property from them, but cannot reach them. They also have not been living at the house for a few years. What options do we have? Thank you.

Several things you can do:

1. You can call the county tax office and see if they will sell the taxes to you. 

2. You can mail them something and see if it gets forwarded to them

3. As others mentioned, you can skiptrace them to get their information

4. you can ask your postal person if they have a forwarding address for them.
