I am looking for help on developing a tax lien strategy

I have been trying to generate a strategy to acquire properties through tax liens. Is there any experiences that you have made to get the property after sending it to the TDA(Tax deed auction). When I am looking for properties I am making sure the county does not have any liens on the public records and I am physically driving by the properties before I purchase the lien. Also, tax liens are refreshed every year only once a year, do you try and purchase as many as you can when they are first released or is there a way you are constantly purchasing them year round and still maintaining the quality in the property/lien?
