The property or the person and do I have to pay them at the courthouse steps? there is 4200$ in back taxes (separately) owed on this prop. So why is that State of OH tax lien for 3.1k$ listed separately? THanks.
our tax cert came back with 4200 in back taxes and this note too:
"There is no Tax sale/lien on this property""

If you would make a list of things I hate, understanding what exactly is the nature of a lien on loan I am about to buy would be right there at the top :)
Is it against the current borrower? How does the timeline look like in terms of lien data and mortgage date?
As to what is the tax lien, Could be it's some code violation of some sort? I would call the county to find out.
If it’s a foreclosure sale purchase, the foreclosure will clear all but tax and municipal liens.
It’s most likely an income tax lien not a property tax lien, the title report should have a copy of the lien attached to it
