Experience with NestEgg.com for Columbus properties?

Question

Anyone have any actual experience with NestEgg in the Columbus area? I have a demo scheduled for tomorrow, but I'm really interested in actual experiences from our area - I've seen good reviews in Chicago and a few other areas, and I'm optimistic, but I'd rather not be their guinea pig here without knowing it :)

@Jason DeVelvis- I currently use NestEgg and just recently signed up for their premium version that includes a dedicated property manager. It's 29 a month per unit. I had been using virtual assistants before, but once I saw they had property management feature, I switched over.

The free version is pretty good. There's a portal that tenants can directly request maintenance. You have the option to use their contractors or your own(they will still coordinate with them). They will coordinate with tenant. They also offer leasing services, insurances, rent collection, and a few other things. Essentially they are working to become a one-stop shop.

The property management feature assigns you a rental manager. They can take calls, text messages, emails, etc. They can handle lease generation, attorney referral, etc. They however are not a traditional property manager. They are 100% virtual and do not actually sign anything in your name. There is no commitment, you can cancel at anytime. They are virtual assistant that specializes in property management. I have a good lockbox system in place, so building access it not an issue.

Companies like NestEgg definitely have the potential to put some of the lower caliber property managers that serve small landlords out of business. NestEgg has some areas it needs to develop more. The app itself is very glitchy, so I prefer to use the site. The rent collection feature makes it hard to track when rent will be deposited (ACHs take 5 to 8 days) and the accounting/reporting system is not very useful. Despite all of this, they have been a very helpful tool to have. They are a growing tech company and I suspect they will continue to improve.

We don't live in Columbus but can vouch for NestEgg. Great startup from Chicago. Don't know how long they have been in Columbus but during your demo I would dig into how large have they grown their contractor network.

Nestegg really is best for the coordination with the tenant regarding repairs and maintenance. Alot of people in the Chicago market use them for maintenance. I as an owner don't need to get involved until the approval process but I can see the entire convo back and forth. They also do rent collection (but I think Cozy/Apartments does it better). In regards to accounting they are nowhere on Stessa's level. Hemlane does some of the same things but Nestegg is free for the maintenance coordination and scheduling part since I believe they make their money from the maintenance contracts they have.

Hmm I’ll have to look into it, I’ve never heard anyone in columbus use it. If it’s a software that will.”automate” everything about PM I’d be skeptical because there’s a lot of moving parts but if it’s just a better version of cozy/tenant cloud then that sounds neat. I use apartments.com since they bought cozy and it works for me as of now

The URL is https://nestegg.rent/ - looks to be a middle-of-the-road option for property management. Not fully managed, but includes rent collection, a call center/chatbot, and some management & scheduling of repairs & maintenance.

I wish it was automate, hah, but no. Really, it sounds like it's an app & call center that will schedule paint/repairs, collect rent, etc. They do some accounting type stuff too, but I use Stessa and really like it. Someone also pointed out that Hemlane (http://hemlane.com) does many of the same things, so I'm looking into them too.
