AirBNB in Apartment Complexes - Houston

Joey M Mbu
Posted

I’ve been more and more interested in getting an Airbnb in an apartment complex. I currently have one AirBNb up and running in a townhouse in midtown and achieved superhost status rather quickly!

I’ve found ways to lower the amount of bad and irresponsible guests and I think I’m ready to get a few apartments doors in my hands.

Has anyone had success convincing a HOA to allow them to do Airbnb without having to rent out multiple units at a time?

@Joey M Mbu Where exactly you have the TH in midtown? I heard it's too much competition in the Houston AirBNB market. How you doing?

There’s always competition. It’s all about making yours different.

I’m doing well I believe. Enough to want to keep going and search for more.

I RUN an HOA on a bunch of patio homes (just bought them today actually). But they're in the galleria area and are ~$2k/month units (and only 1 open at the moment), so likely not the best fit unless you've had success with larger units. Since you're comfortable with midtwon, rather than dealing with HOA why not talk to multifamily owners? Tons of sub $1k/monht units in midtown/montrose. Put together a pitch, see what's for rent on HAR/CL, and ask.
