How old do you consider a house safe from asbestos?

In the process of buying a house built in 1990 (78249 area) and want to remove some acoustic ceiling. Read online its still possible for asbestos to be present in houses made in 80's or 90's. Wondering how likely this really is and if anyone has had any issues with this type of work at this age of a home. Any recommendation would be helpful!
