What is your one thing ?

Great question. I just finished the book a few weeks ago. I kept asking why. I would think I had it and then ask why. I drilled it down to serving. Crazy I thought, but its true. For me I have learned I am happiest when serving. Its changed the way I talk to clients, family etc.

It is almost like an annoying kid but on the third "Why?" you start to get real answers. For example:

I want to own more rental units. Why?

I want passive cash flow. Why?

Because I want to quit my job. Why?

Because I want to travel more. Why?

Because I want to escape. Why?

Oh snap! It just got real.

Anyways, now as I pursue business stuff knowing how I am happiest when serving others it is more fun.

It's not a business if it's not self sufficient it's just a job you own.

@Bryan Williamson from what I'be listened to so far I could completely understand what you mean but was hoping the "one thing" was more clear by the end. Right now I am not sure whether to interprete it as my main overall goal of financial independence or to focus on one step at a time like the next property I would like to purchase.

@Toby Bergstrom that is a good one thing. I assume you mean to build a self sufficient business that will provide you with income without you being involved in everyday management.

I honestly have listened to the book three times and listened to a few podcasts on the one thing and I honestly don't know what it is yet. I need to ask myself the focusing question. But I wanted to see what others said . It does however help me focus on the task at hand and making the next step.

@Bryan Williamson I just started the book today but I feel like my one thing right now will be to focus on homes that meet specific criteria and not look at others. As well as really visualize closing the deal and not getting caught up on the great deals that slipped through my fingers. Would that be considered one thing or two?!? 😄
