reia's in south florida

I am new to all this but am really interested in learning everything there is in real estate investing that will help me become successful.  I attended the Dade county reia and was interested in joining mentoring program, the only problem for me is cost. I would hate to put that of money and all of info need could have freely been at disposal.  Please help!  Should pay the money?
