What cell plan is good for google voice?

Question

I try to set up my sprint cell with google voice but you had to choose which number to be the main one. I also tried to set up T-Moble prepaid plan but that didn't work.

So what cell phone plan is good to set up with google voice and you would be able to have two google voice number on one plan. does the second number not include the cell provider number (making it three number) or is included (making two number).

It will work fine with any carrier and you can only have one number per google account. Sprint does have and integration agreement with Google but I wouldn't do that. The whole point IMO is to have a separate number. I would skip the whole sprint intergration part.

Leeta, don't use the sprint + Google setup.

Just set up a Google voice account on your desktop using any web browser, and configure your seevwr ttings to forward to your cell phone.  Tweak the settings to work however you want.

On your android cell phone, just download Google voice app, and go through the prompts, you are done.

The only hassle is dialing out, you have to tell your phone to use Google voice on dial or text out or not.  Really annoying that they can't have an option that says "if the number I dial is on my Google voice account contacts, or if I have ever received call or text from it via Google voice, use Google voice, if its in my other contacts, use my phone, otherwise ask me each time" option.

Also there is a way to tie two Google voice numbers to one accounts by faking your mobile as a landline or by using magicjack.  However the price of not being able to text makes it not worth it.

@Leeta Song I have each number going to a different phone and one number has my home phone as well.  I did not replace my original numbers, I just use google numbers and keep my original numbers in place.

@Colleen F.  is your t-mobile as pay as you go plan or the monthly payment plan because mine was a pay by the day plan and also is a Android.

@Kathy Armstrong you might be right about having two different account with two different number. Does both of those two google account go to one cell phone?

@Carlos Flores this is what they say about google voice + sprint "Option 1: Replace your Google Voice number with your Sprint number

Calls made from Google Voice and Gmail will display your Sprint number. "Your Google Voice number will remain on your account for 90 days.When changing your Google Voice number, the previous number remains on your account for 90 days. You can keep your original number permanently for a one time $20 fee.

Option 2: Replace your Sprint number with your Google Voice number
	
		  Calls made from your Sprint handset will display your Google Voice number.
	
	 Enable with my Google Voice number
	
		Both options will replace your Sprint voicemail with Google voicemail. Any voicemail messages currently on your Sprint phone will be deleted."

Unless something has changed in the last year, only one GV account can be forwarded to your cell if you want all the GV mobile type features, and you want to be able to dial out and text using your GV number on your cell.

As for choosing a primary number in your Sprint example, you should be able to select the option that lets you choose which number to use every time you dial out.  This allows you to keep Sprint as the primary number for incoming calls as well.  I have mine setup that way on Verizon.  I've grown accustom to the extra click every time I dial out.  Only time it's a pain is when I'm using bluetooth in the car and use voice commands to dial from my car.

I use Verizon and it works well.  I have two google phone numbers with two google accounts.  I don't think you can have two google voice mails with one google account, but I could be wrong.

My  tmobile worked fine. I am not sure what you are trying  that it does not work. You  list the number then verify it.  You have to dial back the code to get it to work. I added home, cell,  vonage line and they all worked.  Did you try and landline or does nothing work?  Basically you are setting up the phones to ring when someone calls the google voice number. Google voice rings to your other phones..
