Well, .com is always your best bet because it's the most widely recognized. Thing is, almost everything with .com is taken these days, so .co, .cc, .me, etc are all getting more and more popular by the day.
In this case however, I think I would choose thechicagohomebuyers.com over chicagohomebuyers.co. But domains are cheap, get both. When you go to work on SEO for your website just focus on one though.
