My First Rental Property

Investment Info:

Single-family residence buy & hold investment in Richlands.

Purchase price: $162,000

This was my first home that I purchased to live in while stationed at Camp Lejeune. I lived in it for a few years and began renting it out in June 2020.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

I originally purchased this home with the intent to sell once I received military orders somewhere else. I realized that the property value had risen a decent amount over the few years I was living in it ,and that it would produce a positive cashflow.

How did you finance this deal?

Va Loan through USAA. 0% Down

@Zachary Jensen Congrats! This is how exactly myself and many other military folks got our feet wet in the real estate world. I have a few questions:

What are you renting it for and what are your monthly expenses?

Do you self manage or use a property management company?

When are you doing your next deal? Do you plan to refinance the property to free up your VA loan?
