Magazine / Small Print Ads for Motivated Sellers - Does It Work?

Question

I am looking for ways to diversify my marketing. I already do a ton of direct mail marketing. I'm working on SEO and implementing a Google Adwords PPC campaign as well.

I realize that small print ads is probably more branding than direct marketing. I'm wondering if it is worth the cost to supplement my direct mail and PPC ads.

Has anyone had direct success (a lead that came from a print ad) with small news or magazine print ads?

@Chris Bounds personally I will stcik wiht the PPC and SEO which is what I love anyways. The reason for this you can targte the right people in a easier manner even though it will take longer wiht SEO. The print is ok, but its not the rouet I will go wiht my budget. I will ony do it for bradning thats all.

Hi Chris,You might still be able to track your print ads via a call tracking phone number specific to those ads and a web address that drops them on a landing page specific to the print ad as well. I believe LeadPages might be able to help you accomplish both with their base package - http://www.leadpages.netHope this helps!-Tony

@Dan Barrett If I go for it, I'll definitely be measuring results like I do other campaigns. Of course, sometimes it's harder to track indirect mass advertising like print ads vs PPC or direct mail. The separate phone number and landing page would help with that though.

I suppose, like in all things, it just depends on how well-targeted the publication is, and how cheap the leads come in.

You could always use an ad-specific landing page and a callrail number to track your specific return on that ad; might as well test it for a month or two and see how the cost per lead compares to AdWords or SEO.
