How many Canucks are BP Pro members?

[Note:  Seeing that I was the last poster to the Canadian Real Estate Forum - and that was three months ago - this may not be the place to post this question :-(]

Brandon and Josh have altered the dashboard and I am now presented with a big star  {very Tejas like} on the menu bar.   As an 'eyecon', this star fulfilled its role with splendour and before I knew it, I was {re}reading the sales pitch for BP Pro. {must click shiny star}

It is a well written pitch ... a bit long for an elevator unless you are in Dubai or Taipei, but provides all the details one might need. Nonetheless, I came away with the same conclusion as the first time I read it:

That said, it may just be me.

Are there any other Canucks out there in BP-land who have exchange colourful money for green and become "Basic Pros" or "Pro Pros"?   What has been the benefit to you?

[BTW:  My menu bar no longer shows me yellow numbers indicating the number of notification or unread message that await me]

You pretty much hit the "society is bigger than me" points I was using to sell myself on becoming a "Pro" of some degree.

Some of the calculators would be applicable - but I have already developed my own {monte carlo} simulation system for modelling properties under a variety of what-if scenarios.  Most of the forms and documents would not ... but I may be able to help with that in the future when/if I find more time {likely when the toddler grows up}.

As for the combined inbox - I did notice that, but the little yellow number that use to appear on the menubar was a good  "eyecon" that prompted me to check notifications and messages - much like your "star" got me on the elevator.

Having the number of messages/notifications as the indicator is not as important has having a contrasting colour "eyecon" on the menu bar which is normally not present ... a little yellow envelope would also work.

I'll keep turning the "Pro" idea over in my head and once my renovations are completed next month and all my units once again full .... I'll look a little harder.

Howdy Roy N. I heard about that star but had not seen it yet - so glad it's working! I can't help ya on the Canada question (eh) but I can talk you into signing up for Pro!

Yes - you get cool stuff with Pro, like the logo in the signature, the ability to post in the marketplace, and the ability to see who is checking out your profile.

And yes - you get unlimited access to the new Calculators that I spent years developing (yep) and our developer spent several months coding and I think is the most awesome piece of software out there for real estate investors. (and there is more coming soon.)

And yes- by being pro you get a little sticker under your name in all your forum posts, and that's pretty fancy. :)

But imagine that you get NONE of that.

Nothing.

Here's my pitch:  it helps, more than anything else, to keep the community here growing.  It's the memberships that allowed Josh to hire me to write 5,000 word blog posts, build calculators, and record a podcast. It's the memberships that help us constantly fight the spam and the gurus to keep this community clean. and it's the memberships that help us continue to offer all the great content here for free for the world and for those who don't have $5 a month.

So if for no other reason - I encourage people to sign up for Pro or Pro Basic because this is a community and by signing up, you are helping to ensure the survival.

If Joshua Dorkin would have told me that years ago - I would have jumped on board in a heartbeat. So now, that's my story to tell others.

Thoughts? :) Am I a good Salesman? Are we to the top of the Dubai tower yet!?

As for the menu bar not showing - we combined "inbox" and "notifications" into one, now - just hover over "inbox" and it should be there. Let me know if that's not working and I'll get our developer on it!
