San Diego Resources for Finding Homes Off MLS
Good evening,
Upon completing graduate school I am looking to find a home that needs significant work done to having construction and renovation skills. I intend on making the home the primary residence as a first time homebuyer. Unfortunately, I am not a cash buyer, however there is considerable capital I can put down.
It seems as though the San Diego market quite rarely has good opportunities that are on large listings. There is not too much concern on neighborhoods or schools, yet it still seems like quite the tall task.
If anyone is aware of any tools that allowed them to more easily locate some of these listings it would be greatly appreciated.
Is there some sort of website, groups, service, or even social media accounts that would have this information?

Hi Oskar; Fixing up a house is a really great way to get started. Wholesalers are a source, you may be able to find a bird dog you can pay a small fee. Just driving around & finding a house. Its even possible to find a beater on the MLS. Pretty much everything is gonna take some serious effort to find. As you mentioned SD is really competitive. Dive into some of the archived posts using the search function. Hopefully this thread gets some traction and SD locals will chime in. There's some Realtors here that will hopefully respond also. One thing to note is standard lending methods may not work for houses that need work. Do not despair tho, there's lots of folks on the forum that help people learn. Best of luck to you!
