New House Hacker

Josias Gabriel
Posted

hello everyone. I'm a recent veteran and I just recently used my VA loan to purchase a single family home. my plan is to house hack it. I want to live in the basement while I completely rent out the 4 bedrooms upstairs. I guess I'm just feeling very overwhelmed on getting started. The house is under contract right now and is set to close on DEC 19TH. I not sure about furnishing and what price i should set each room at. not to mention I'm happy i bought my home in union, NJ because its a heavy commuter area for people that travel back and forth from New York for work. which is a good thing because I don't have a shortage of clientele but at the same time i get caught in the cycle of what customer base do i want to mainly market too.

You may want to do Mid-Term Rental on Airbnb, VRBO and FurnishedFinders.

Renting Room-by-Room will be more difficult.
