Newbie who wants to get into wholesale

Posted

Hello, I am very new to real estate, period. I was listening to the podcast about getting into real estate without having any money, given that I basically have no money, I was intrigued.

My question is, how do I truly start? Should I try and get under someone more experienced or jump out in my own to see if I can make a sale? I’m located in PA, close to Philadelphia.

Thanks for the helpful answers!

@Vanessa Demosthene I want to go on record and tell you that anyone who says wholesaling can be done with no money is lying to you. You need some money to get started. Marketing and funding off market deals is how you make money and unfortunately it costs money to do that. Not trying to discourage you at all but a lot of new wholesalers quit in the first 12 months because they realize that it does take some capital to get started and they dont have the time or the money to keep up with successful marketing and finding deals.

That being said, start with going to local REIAs and meeting other investors and learning more about investing and wholesaling. Bigger Pockets is also a great place to get more education. There are tons of threads about wholesaling. Feel free to PM me also if you have questions!
