Mitigation Issues with contractor

I had AdvantaClean of the Piedmont do mitigation after a water heater exploded. Their bill (over 20k) was sent to my insurance company who said the mitigation company did work that they didn't need to do, and therefore arnt paying. The mitigation company is saying to me basically they don't care what my insurance is saying, they want the full amount.

Suggestions on how to handle this?
