Prefab Shower vs Tile - Student Off Campus House

Looking to buy a house-College Off Campus House-  Wanted to gut 2 or 3 bathrooms..at reasonable expense, where the tenants won't destroy?  What will hold up better and at what cost?Looking to put basic materials- nothing fancy.  I can do some of the work(and I want to as well)I can gut the bathrooms and put up the wall board…I want to assist in installation of Toilet,Vanity,and Shower if prefab( just to re-learn )…I will have someone else tile if thats the better choice.  Greatly appreciate any feedback.
