Anyone investing in lots in Oceans Shore, Washington?

Anyone in the community investing in Oceans Shores, WA?

I am interested in buying lots, to possibly rent RV space, or rent out cabins. Is it possible to make money in investing in lots for this type of investing, in or around Ocean Shores, WA?

Currently, short-term rentals (of any kind) are prohibited in most residential areas of Ocean Shores.

The City Council is looking at possibly modifying that, but there's still resistance to the idea from people who think that allowing any short-term rentals will instantly transform Ocean Shores into "Fort Lauderdale at Spring Break".

Well, the politicians are the ones trying to make short-term rentals possible (with reasonable restrictions), so in this case - yes, I do love them. I've worked in short-term rentals in other places, so I know how it can be done responsibly.  We just have to overcome the NIMBYs.

No but its an interesting idea to lease land for an RV.  My take is that Ocean Shores is a little bit lacking in 'touristy charm' to be a major destination and its low on other major income sources.  Also it only has a few good months out of the year for a short-term rental destination.  There are people renting there so clearly someone's doing it right.  full disclosure: a family member of mine lived there for 2 years.
