How do I purchase a home that looks abandoned?

Hello BP world, I have been following and getting inspiration from the Bigger Pockets Podcast and articles for almost a year now.

I see a house in my city that appears to be abandoned, the doors and windows have been shut up with steel panels for months and the pool has been boarded up as well.  This home is in lauderhill, FL in Broward County.

How do I approach purchasing the property?

I live in Broward the first thing i would do is search the Broward County Property Appraiser below link and at-least find out who owns it

You could call them see if its listed or if there looking to sell

@Mark Weinstock that was very nice of you, some people will want to know where the property is and they could " help him out" and in the mean time take the property right out from under Maurice. I have given advice to an investor who was looking right in the town i live in and i will not try to take someone else deal that they found. people like you that will give and not take or want in return that makes these forums worth going to. good job helping a fellow investor out.

Its my good deed of the day :)

There was a movie a while back  I can't remember the name of it where one person would do a good deed and just as that person in return to pass it on and also do a good deed

Since your a contractor maybe you can give me some advice I'm doing a remodel on a small rental and looking for advice on which kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities to go with
