Florida real state after the elections. Good or bad idea?

Question

Florida is a great place for RE investing. Will the possibility of higher corporate taxes, a state income tax, free healthcare, $15 minimum wage and making Florida a sanctuary state impact real estate investing and real estate values in Florida?

I worked in the Miami Elections Department for ONE day in the 2012 Presidential election . I left after lunch break and never returned. I didn't even get paid. I just felt like there was, let's just say, dishonesty going on. I can just imagine what is going on behind closed doors in the swamp that is Broward and Palm Beach counties Elections Department.

I was worried too because Gillum was buying low-info votes with taxpayer money with a fury. Thankfully he lost, but I'm worried about the *TOTALLY REAL* ballots they keep "finding" in South Florida: "Gosh look at the 200 ballots for Gillum I found behind the Cap'n Crunch in my kitchen cabinet!"

On the other hand I was hopeful that real estate would be a casualty of Gillum win. When "The Recession" lost his job about 2 years ago property prices have gone through the roof.  As a Buy-N-Hold-N-Rent investor, high property prices are death. Call me selfish, but a collapse in real estate would help me immensely.

But I'm glad we didn't get a governor who wanted an income tax and obscene levels of obnoxious regulations.

Even if Gillim wins the governorship, and if there is a major blue wave that swings the state senate, the Republicans will still have a major majority in the state house that will temper a lot of those initiatives.

Hi Frank, i don't know about all the other stuff mentioned before but i do know as real estate professionals it would be to all of our best interests to vote "yes" on amendment 2 in this up in coming vote.

Frank. During the election, Florida also voted to require a 2/3 majority vote on any tax or fee increase proposed. While the election is still kinda up in the air (Thanks Broward!!!), I'm not too worried about it. I'm keeping my rental properties and will continue to seek out more opportunities.

@Stephen Shelton political views aside, I recommend more into the recount that is happening. I am sure we both want all votes counted and want fair elections and can agree that fake news and misinformation is dangerous on both sides.

Election votes totals change as provisional ballots the day of are tabulated as well as active soldiers ballots are accepted ten days after election day as long as they are postmarked by election day. This happens in every county in the country every time an election happens.  And the fact is there has not been an abnormal number of democratic ballots found.
