Probate Marketing Letter - Looking for Marketing Genius!

I've done a $700 campaign for probates leads.
Have done one wholesale deal -- made about $6500.
I'm pleased.

What I'm looking for advice for from an Experienced probate investor....

Letter Marketing and My Thoughts:
If I received a letter saying "I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm interested in buying your house at xyz" I may be a little put off --- even the most well written letter.

So I've had the thought to develop a general letter that can actually be used for All other leads as well that says something like "Hi, I'm local investor that buys houses. If you have a property that you need to need to sell but aren't sure what to do with call me -- I can pay cash, close quickly, etc. etc."

Has anyone thought to do this and have some feedback on what your results are?

I know that follow up is key --- I also know don't like the potential of hitting a nerve and getting hate calls --- anyone think that this will get the same response (and possibly better?) than a targeted "I want to buy your house at X" letter?
